5000 Pound Deadlift Challenge

Rules
Reach 5,000 pounds of deadlift tonnage in less than one minute. For the Women’s Division, the target is scaled to 3,000 lb. The number of reps you perform multiplied by the weight used must be ≥ 5000/3000 lb and performed in < 60 seconds.
Divisions
There are two divisions for this challenge:
Open Division (Men + Women): 5,000 lb (2,268 kg)
Women’s Only Division: 3,000 lb (1,361 kg)
Process
- Timer starts when plates leave the floor and ends when plates touch down on the final rep.
- Touch and go reps are allowed.
Equipment
- Barbells, chalk, and belts are allowed.
- Straps are not allowed.
- Low handle trap bars are allowed, but incur a 15% leverage tax.
Open: 5,750 lb (2,608 kg) is required.
Women’s: 3,450 lb (1,565 kg) is required.
 Examples
- 14 reps @ 365 lb (male/barbell)
- 15 reps @ 200 lb (female/barbell)
- 19 reps @ 315 lb (male/trap bar)
