Third-Fourth Challenge
Carry 1/3 of your bodyweight in each hand for 1/4 mile (400 meters) — but if you drop the weights or stop moving, you have to run or walk a quarter mile before you can pick the weights back up and resume.
Weight Requirement
Each hand must carry ≥ 1/3 of your body weight. Weight is rounded to the nearest increment of 5. Use the calculator below to find your required weight.

Distance Requirement
- Total carry distance: 400 meters (¼ mile)
- A track is not required, just a measurable course.
- Acceptable setups:
- 1x400m loop
- 2x200m (short loop or out-and-back)
- 4x100m laps
Implements
Allowed
- Dumbbells
- Kettlebells
- Farmer’s carry handles
- Bags:
- Any bag with handles filled with weight (e.g., sandbag or free weights in a backpack).
- Other:
- Any other measurable load that mimics a farmer’s carry grip (e.g., plates, jerry cans).
- Hex bars
- Lifting straps or gloves (chalk is permitted)
Timing & Penalty Laps
- Clock starts as soon as you begin walking.
- If you drop the weight or stop walking, you must:
- Complete a 400m penalty run or walk before you can resume forward progress with the weights.
- 400m course = 1 lap
- 200m course = 2 laps
- 100m course = 4 laps
- Complete a 400m penalty run or walk before you can resume forward progress with the weights.
Performance Tiers
To qualify for the leaderboard, you must at least complete the Finished Tier (F-Tier). For full tier requirements, refer to the table below.
